Tailored Courtyard Landscapes for Modern Living

At PARC Concepts, we turn compact courtyards into intentional, immersive spaces that enhance both lifestyle and property value. Whether you're working with a narrow side yard, a central courtyard, or a small backyard tucked between walls, our courtyard garden designs prioritise flow, function, and natural beauty.

From Newcastle to the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, the Hunter Region, and across Australia, we create elegant courtyard spaces that connect seamlessly with the architecture around them.

Courtyard Garden Design Ideas That Maximise Space and Style

Small spaces demand smart design. We specialise in small courtyard design that makes every square metre feel expansive, welcoming, and liveable. Whether you want a morning coffee nook, a green-filled sanctuary, or a low-maintenance landscape you can enjoy without the upkeep, our custom concepts reflect how you want to use the space.

Our courtyard design services include:

  • Custom courtyard garden design tailored to your block and light conditions

  • Courtyard landscape design that complements your home’s style, whether classic, coastal, or contemporary

  • Planting plans for shaded, sheltered, or full-sun courtyards

  • Hardscaping and finishes, including paving, screens, built-in seating, and water features

  • Lighting design for evening ambience and security

Designed for Small Spaces with Big Impact

Every courtyard is different, and so is every client. Whether you're transforming an entry courtyard in a heritage home or designing a modern outdoor retreat for an urban townhouse, we take into account:

  • Sun exposure and shadow patterns from buildings or fences

  • Drainage and ventilation for smaller, enclosed spaces

  • Privacy screening and boundary treatments

  • Seamless indoor-outdoor connection through doors, windows, or living zones

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all, every courtyard design idea is bespoke, grounded in the real conditions of your space, and tailored to your vision.

Landscape Design for Courtyards That Work With Your Home

We approach courtyards as more than just gardens, they’re outdoor rooms that should enhance your overall home layout. That’s why we design for:

  • Courtyard kitchen gardens with herbs, edible plants, and built-in planter beds

  • Lush green outlooks that create beauty from inside as well as out

Our designs often feature natural textures like stone, timber, and steel to soften small spaces, while advanced lighting and irrigation options help you maintain impact with ease.

Our Courtyard Design Process

Our process is personal, precise, and tailored to suit small spaces without compromising on experience:

01

Discovery Call

We start with a short call to understand how you'd like to use your courtyard, your preferences around maintenance, and the overall aesthetic you’re drawn to.

02

Site Consultation

Whether in person or virtually, we visit the site to assess dimensions, access, sun orientation, drainage, and existing materials. Small spaces require big attention to detail, and we plan for it from the start.

03

Concept Design

We craft a courtyard concept plan that includes a scaled layout, planting palette, materials suggestions, and optional inclusions like water features, built-in seating, or trellises for vertical greenery.

04

Final Plans & Documentation

Once approved, we provide final plans suitable for your landscaper or builder to implement. Need help with permits? We also prepare documents for Development Applications or CDCs where required.

05

Project Support (Optional)

We can stay involved during construction to ensure your courtyard is delivered as designed. We work with trusted landscape professionals across NSW or can collaborate with your chosen builder.
